Over the last three decades, MPLUN (Madhya Pradesh Laghu Udyog Nigam) has been promoting the growth of small-scale industries in the state.
Since its inception in 1961, the Nigam is constantly implementing the State Government’s policy for development of the SSI sector. MPLUN has diversified, expanded and increased its activities – all aimed to encourage, develop and sustain the SSI sector – be it infrastructure development or technical feasibility study, supply of raw material or marketing of finished products of the SSI sector, weavers or craftsmen, LUN has it all ! No wounder MPLUN has become the life line of small-scale industries in Madhya Pradesh.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Marketing – A Vital Service to SSI Sector
Nurturing the growth and development of SSI units in the State, MPLUN has been vigorously pursuing a policy aimed at providing assistance and protection to the products manufactured by them. To fulfil this objective the State Government has reserved 150 items under its Stores Purchase Rules for exclusive purchase through MPLUN. The Nigam is fully conscious of its dual role of acting as a central purchasing agent on behalf of the State Government and the vital role it has to perform by providing marketing assistance to SSI units of the State. Therefore, while extending required marketing support to the SSI sector, M.P. Laghu Udyog Nigam also ensures procurement of material of the required quality at reasonable prices to the buying departments of the State Government. The material supplied through the Nigam is subjected to inspection as per the Nigam’s well laid down procedure . Over a period of more than a decade LUN has matured into an efficient marketing organization and has acquired necessary expertise in this field.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Quality Control – Our Prime Concern
It has always been the endeavour of the Nigam to lay great emphasis on the quality of products from the SSI sector. In 1983-84, the Nigam had set up its Quality Development and Consultancy Department. At present the major activities of this department are:
- Conducting feasibility studies of small-scale units, registered with the Nigam .
- Carrying out quality inspection before delivery.
- Providing Testing labs (presently at Indore, Bhilai and Jabalpur) and Tool Rooms
(presently at Bhopal and Jabalpur) facilities to SSI units.
- Preparing and amending specifications and cost estimates of products

Some raw materials are an obstacle to the growth of SSI units. M.P.Laghu Udyog Nigam procures and distributes to the SSI sector, scarce and controlled raw materials like steel, wax, polymers, palm, fatty acid, brass scrap and canalised non-ferrous metals of MMTC. This service of the Nigam helps the promotion and development of the SSI sector and facilitates the units to maintain and increase their production. It has always been the endeavor of the Nigam to add more items in its range of raw material as per suggestions from the SSI sector and the State Government for distribution to SSI units keeping in view the financial feasibility of this activity.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Mrignayani – Reflection of Madhya Pradesh
